I picked a weekend to come here with my dad and see the so-called "millennium plan" for ourselves. Overall, it still feels like everything is under construction. There are barely any people on the streets, and what you see most are cranes and construction sites. So much taxpayer money has been poured into this place—I just hope it all leads to something worthwhile in the end.

I thought there might be more people around on Sunday, but Xiong'an Railway Station was just as deserted.
